Fourchon / Timbalier reports?

Just wondering if any one has reports for the fourchon / Timbalier islands area. I was there last wknd, muddy water, little to no bait and no bites.

Looking for the same. I plan on going tomorrow. I know they were catching around wine island pass once the wind calmed down last sunday. I pulled a few in at the mine but to many boats to deal with so I moved around on the inside of the island.

What size boat is needed to fish the islands down in that area? Also, I have heard there's a lot of submerged hazards, any truth to that? Headed out to Little Lake area this weekend.

Lots of submerged hazards. The marsh on either sides of the canals is usually too shallow for a bay bot unless the tide is really high. I have gone to the islands in an 18' bay boat, but if there is much wind you will get wet. If you are in a bay boat 20' or over then you should be perfect

My dad and some friends wade fished Timbalier for 3 days (last weekend) and got 150 trout and 4 reds. He said action wasn't on fire but those aren't bad numbers either

An update ... Made a trip Sunday to N side of W Timbalier island with some friends. We caught some nice specs in clear-green water, on live shrimp under a cork; 48 total from 14"-20" and a big 30lb class red and a big pompano. There were several other boats around us catchin too.

Hit the rigs in the bay. Look for the ones with the shell bottom. If you don't pick up one in the first 5 minutes move on to the next platform.
