Nice!

Did you have to drill holes in the bed of your truck or did you find a way to mount it without drilling?

Good looking setup..

I had a stud 2X6. I went to Lowe's and bought 4 2' sections of PVC pipe. I work at a machine shop and cut and drilled the PVC pipe on machines. With all that said I have $12 and about 1 hour into it.

I didn't drill into anything on my truck. I measures the distance between the bed and the fender wells. Measure from the top of the 2X6 and then the bottom. The angle holds everything snug.

looks great

I would worry about an ice chest sliding into it though so I suggest raising it up a little higher or use a more vertical angle (15* maybe) for clearing things you may want to have loaded up front and a cross board (bumper) to keep ice chests or whatever else goes in the truck from sliding forward and hitting the poles and maybe breaking the rack if you have to stop quickly.

The only thing I put in my truck when in route to fishing is tackle box, spare tire, and net. The rest rides in boat. It would be nothing to change the angle. 2 screws on each side and your dine. I just eye balled it.

Looks like an engineering mind at work there!
Nice job!

That's a cheap way to fix a expensive problem. Good work.

I don't ride ANY fishing poles outside the cab. Had rods fly out of the boat already. Also had rods get smashed in back of the truck. I like your design tho. Looks quick and easy.
