New ice chest
1 Attachment(s)
Snagged this cooler today for my fish ice chest on the boat. After losing about 8 corkies and 4 twich baits, and buying all my wading gear in an attempt to become a wade fisherman, I opted to save $250 and not get the Engel 123 qt. this seems to be more than adequate for my uses, It has durable hinge-type locks, some kind of special coating to prevent sun damage and a pretty cool color scheme. I will put this thing through hell, as i do the rest of my equipment. Hopefully this cooler will prove to be good bang for the buck. If not, I'll fork over the $450 for the Engel next time around.

Bro you shoulda got a yeti. Just buy it and it makes its own ice. :rotfl::grinpimp:
Just messin with ya man. Good looking box ya got. Ready to see it loaded with fish :) |
We've still got a half dozen 120 qt Igloo coolers from a decade ago when we were in the beef business. I think we may have worn out a couple of them, but they are perfect for fishing and last a loooooong time. I think we paid around $100 each for them, and we've gotten our money's worth.
The cooler in the pic seems to be an equivalent updated version. If/when we need a new cooler, the 120 qt Igloo will likely be the one. |
Should of got a Igloo!!
Ice Chest are not worth $$$ to save frozen water!! You can not beat a Igloo that last forever and when it is done you got your $$$ worth and you never have to lock it up or worry about it getting stole |

Get 120 for less or around 90 at Academy last time I got one |
$30 ??? BIG DEAL. The extra $30 is worth the few improvements this one has over the $90 model lol
|
You can get a 152qt for 79.99

SAMs has the 150's for 69.99
Spend a Lil more coin and get the stainless hinges and latches from academy and u've got a damn good chest for the money! |
That's an old man plane Jane cooler, plus those cheap *** latches always break and the 150 qt is too large for the new layout of my boat. This one is "super tough" haha plus it looks WAY COOLER. Since I have an ugly boat, I figure I should Atleast have a middle of the road cooler lol

That thing is an antique!!! I'll be happy to get 3 years out of this one, I'm pretty pumped to have something original, not the same thing everybody and their momma's got. Ya feel me? Don't lie, this thing looks pretty sweet!!

The 150 qt is nice if you've got the room in your boat from it, but the 120 qt is just about perfect for stuffing with bull reds and still being able to lift and carry. The 150 qt is a bit on the big and heavy side for me, especially when full. Filled with a mix of ice and fish, the 150 qt is 25% heavier. 30 extra quarts of fish and ice is about 60 extra lbs.

Think I only have a 75 or might be 90 qt in my boat under my leaning pole Just put drinks in But that 150 is good for crabbing and for all your boiled stuff also |

An ice chest is more important to me than a woman! You not salt life unless you value your ice chest more than yo' woman.
