Bream near BR

Anyone know of a good place where you can just go sit on the bank and cast a line, maybe catch a couple fish, near BR? Hopefully will be able to get a little boat soon (YEAH TAX RETURN!!), but just looking for somewhere to go cast a line tomorrow morning before I go to the freaking Desert Land Out West next week.

Know a few places but way to early in the year for all of them. Sorry.

Check out brec.org for a list of their 11 community lakes. The best ones are Perkins Park, Greenwood, Zachary, Forest Park, and Palimino. In Ascension Parish, Lamar-Dixon has a large pond regularly stocked. In Denham Springs, North Park has 2 ponds. Both have decent fishing for bream and catfish.
