Just playing

Today was a beautiful day so I called Bobby and asked him to take a ride with me. The water was way out so anyplace I explored would be safe in the future.

We started in this shallow cut. It was loaded with sheepshead in the 3-4 pound class but they had lock jaw. Some of them I could have almost netted. Only had one look at my bait before he decided to turn and run leaving a muddy cloud of water as did all the others.

We bounced around exploring other places. The water was 51 deg. Later in the day the water hit 52.3 and the rats came alive.

We were at the entrance of this pond with the tide running in. I chose to fish the outside before getting in the entrance. It paid off. I got a 12 1/4 inch trout. Our first in the box. Did not get a shot of it because bobby had a good fish on.

He had casted into the pond itself and found a hog waiting for some food to be washed in.

As the water got up to 54.6 deg. we found every rat red in the area. Made for a good afternoon. I did manage a 21 1/2 red to add to the box.

Bobby and Loretta got the redfish and guess who got the trout.

At about 18 pounds and having to share it with Buddy who is almost 16 pounds it was just a tease for Sushi (her name) anyway.

Life is Good!

Fishing is not a matter of life or death. It's more important than that.

Good stuff capt. I fished my little road side spot yesterday morn and tide looked 2ft low or more. Not one bite.

I went by there later in the day and a bunch were fishing on both sides. I was wondering if you may have been one of them. Guess you skunked out earlier and left. It was a tough day over all.
