Well I did it...
Popped the question Wednesday night and she said yes. First full day we've spent together since I had duty Thanksgiving Day. Date has been selected.

Tell you like i tell any young couple. Good luck. Anyone can get marrired. If you stay married for 5 years then come back and I'll congratulate you. For then y'all have worked at staying married and becoming one. Then you both will have done something worth congratulating.

Well put....... the key to a succesful marriage is having two people that want to be married....... if you want to be married, you going to make it work. Also, some adive I got from an old Indian welder that I use to work with......don't do anything that you wouldn't want your wife doing. |

Excellent advice. I've told all my sons to get your life together before trying to bring someone else into it. So far none of them are married. A couple are in relationships but they are working on their educations and careers first. A job is not a career. You don't know what your going to do in 4 years yet. You should hold off until your at least a E-5 and on your second enlistment before you get married. It is very difficult to live off of an Enlisted mans salary with a family. Take it from someone who's done it. I wish I knew then what I know now or would have listened to some of the advice I was given.
But since I know your not going to listen to anyone here..... Good Luck! |
