I found out that JFK had been assassinated . . . I was in the 8th grade . . . My dad's team had a game that night against Aldine . . . We played the game . . . And then, most everyone watched Lee Harvey Oswald get assassinated by Jack Ruby . . . Reality . . .

I was in the 6th grade. The nuns let us go home early and I remember my mother crying while she was watching the news on TV. I also saw Jack Ruby shoot Oswald live on TV. Only two other events I witnessed live on TV since then...landing on the moon and the World Trade Center attack.

My, how time flies . . . I did see Koresh's compound burn with 60 plus in it . . . Why?

I was 8. When I was young, I always wanted to be an astronaut. Because he was the one that said we were going to the moon.

Years later, I often thought back and wondered what if he had lived.. What "Camelot" could have accomplished for this country..

I 've read every book that's EVER BEEN WRITTEN on his assassination.

How great iT WAS growing up back then.. Family's ate meals together.

Mom ALWAYS fried chicken every Sunday.. I remember going dewberry picking.. Us helping her wash then and making homemade jelly..

No one locked there doors.. We just walked into our neighbors' house.. U stayed and eat at the friends all the time..

If you misbehaved at a friends house? U GOT your butt spanked there.. Then when U got home you got spanked again..

Black and white TV, Window A/C's, Attic fans, Mom dried clothes outside on clothes line... NO Cellphones, Computers. No XBOX..

I had the coolest bicycle on the block. Streams on the handle bars, banana seat, playing cards with clothes pins in the spokes..
