In 30 minutes, Im off of work for 3 days. First time in 10 years of work I actually get to hunt opening weekend of rifle in area 3. Will be in the stand in less than 12 hours. Hopefully get to lay the smack down on some deer this weekend. If anyone else is going, Good Luck. Be safe and wear a harness. If someone needs help dragging one out, give me a call.

Wow, rifle season opens over a month sooner for y'all than us is Delta zone of MS.

No deer all weekend. Had a fight with a squirrel in my stand sunday evening. Little sucker came down and started biting my coveralls. I knocked him off me and he fell 20' down to the ground and started back up the tree..... Round 2....... we went round and round for a few minutes and finally I smacked him and sent him flying a good 30 yards away from me. Pulled out the .270 and let him have it......

That is crazy!

And one hell a va shot!

i have about 20 holes in my coveralls.... thankfully he never bit me, but it was quite entertaining to fight a cat squirrel...... he just wouldnt stop.....

Wow never heard of a squirrel actually trying to bite someone... Makes me think that sucker might have rabies or something...

i was trying to climb down the tree and he kept coming at me. i threw him off once and he came back at me and started in onme again. I knew my hunt was over from the get-go. Didnt wanna get bit by a squirrel again, so 2nd time i threw him off and blasted him.
