Ahhhh come on, who wouldn't.....

Do you ever let friends or relatives borrow your #boat?:work:

toodeep 09-24-2013 09:38 AM

nope unless someone is broke down.

Spunt Drag 09-24-2013 09:44 AM

Yea. But only a select few.

Lake Chuck Duck 09-24-2013 09:50 AM

I really wouldnt feel comfortable with it but I may would consider to just a couple people. People that I know would take as good of care as I try to. I would still be very uneasy.

Its one thing when you tear up your own stuff, but its another thing when someone else does it.

Matt G 09-24-2013 09:56 AM

I can only think of one friend that I would let. Family...... No way in Hell.

Exactly. But I would rather tear up my own stuff than someone else's. It would have to be someone that I know is careful and would take responsibility for any damage.

What if the person borrowing your boat has a costly breakdown (though no fault of there own). I know deep down I would still blame them.

Would let, brother, ex brother in-law, ex father in-law, probably 4 close friends. All experienced boaters. Wouldn't let anyone that doesn't have experience in a boat of equal size and horsepower borrow it.

Top Dawg 09-24-2013 10:29 AM

I'll let most my close friends take mine. And ill take Spunt Drags and run it like I stole it!

LMAO

Dogface 09-24-2013 10:41 AM

To just a very few.

sparkyc4 09-24-2013 10:41 AM

I'll let a few close friends and family use my kayak. When I had my offshore boat...only 1 other person I would let use it.

MathGeek 09-24-2013 10:52 AM

I've let friends and neighbors borrow my tiller driven 16 ft aluminum v hull. It's pretty rugged and you'd have to work pretty hard to mess it up.

Andy C 09-24-2013 11:08 AM

Only two people have ever borrowed my boat and I have borrowed theres, very close friends. And we have an understanding if if you break it fix it. No matter what gos wrong been working for us 7-8 year's now

goldenrod 09-24-2013 11:32 AM

Yep, would let close friends

BIG-C 09-24-2013 11:34 AM

I have in the past but never again,Lil-c will be the only one that can use it.

MarshRat89 09-24-2013 11:52 AM

I don't even borrow my dad's. I have I'm the past but, I won't anymore. I don't want to be responsible if anything would happen. I know I don't have 30k to replace it if something does.

I've always looked at it this way, if someone needs to borrow my truck, absolutely. That means they need it. Nobody "needs" to borrow a boat.

BIG-C 09-24-2013 12:04 PM

I wouldn't evn let my wife use it.

Bdub 09-24-2013 12:05 PM

Doubt I would let anyone borrow besides my paran because I know he would replace anything if he broke it and I know he wouldn't try anything stupid and be very careful in it.

mequain 09-24-2013 12:09 PM

I will let a few close friends borrow my boat an my old man. The only reason I would let them is because I know they can afford to replace it if something was to happen.
