Tarpon making comeback in SWLA?

Have a buddy swear to me that he caught a baby tarpon down in Grand Chenier last weekend. I think he had too much Miller light. But anyways...

It'd be sweet if they could make a comeback in this area. I know they used to catch them in Big lake waaaay back in the day.

Thoughts? Anyone else spot one lately?

My wife says Ladyfish are the "poor man's Tarpon". They fight and jump like Tarpon.

I caught a 14" tarpon at the Grand Isle Bridge over the summer it took me a second to realize what it was...

Giant Ladyfish or Tarpen

I have heard of people hooking them on Big Lake.

But, I didnt realize how big lady fish got until I went on the Chandeleur Trip; these fish could eat the Ladyfish you catch @ Ensco 56.
