^^^^ wind row your strips and burn 'em 2 days later. Go buy a coupla cases of dove loads, go the supermarket for onions, bell peppers and celery. Whatever you do don't breast them...pluck 'em! Then pot roast for a few hours, serve over rice with purple hull peas on the side. Makes all the work well worth while.

You forgot one thing. Take some syrup sausage out of the casing and stuff the inside with em. Leave a lil extra to put on the outside when you brown em.

Good advice about making bare ground strips in the field.
Recipe sounds good too, I agree, don't breast em, pick them.
Good luck, give us a report.
My buddy has a similar field with brown top near his pond in Lacassine.
It's been good but not terrific. You may only need one case of shells. HaHa!

There is bout a 1/2 mile long milo field across my fence. I shot 3 boxes opening day last year and killed 10. Lol there is plenty of doves where I live. I'm just trying to get them to come and land by me instead of across fence. Gonna expand my plot to bout 3 acres next yeat

Sausage, with steen's syrup mixed in! That's some good stuff. They sell it at Shawn's in Delcambre and Herbert's In Maurice. Not sure where else. I like to stuff ducks with it to. I take about half link and bust it out into the bottom of the pot while I'm browning the ducks. Give the gravy a sweet hint.

bgizzle 08-10-2013 10:02 AM

meaux fishing 08-10-2013 10:15 AM
