What y'all think?

One of my good buddies that guide in hackberry works as a land man for an oil company and offered me a job as a land man when I graduate from sowela for I/E. I know there's more money in the land man job but I want to know if anyone on here has any advice

If you got no family and/or obligations weighing you down, LM is a good gig.

Plan to live out of a suitcase, be 1099'ed, and rack up 50,000 miles a year on your auto min. If you plan to make money, you will have to be where the work is and right now the work is in South Tx, ND, Pa, Co, Oh. Jim Flores & Billy Rucks got their start as land men and had a few Minor successes along the way.

The office I would be at is in jasper and I'm not too happy about the 1099 every year but I'm not excited about going to the plants either but that's where the money is around here and that's why I'm getting a degree

A 1099 can be your best friend if you work it correctly

How so??
Yes you can write down your taxable income to next to nothing but when it comes time to borrow money, your debt to income will never meet their requirements.
