what do you consider fish of a lifetime
 

As long as I've been bass fishing I've never caught one over 2.5lbs. Im just curious what you guys would consider bare minimun for fish of a lifetime? I know with lacassine producing big numbers it will probable be double digits. I would say about 10lbs.

well the biggest i have caught in my lifetime "so far" is a 6-1/4lb bass, but i don't freshwater fish that much, and i was nine years old at the time, i have caught several 4-5lbers since, i would run straight to the taxidermist if i caught something over 7, or would flip out if i caught something around 10lbs or more

I caught a 9.5 lb bass and Im happy with that. I dont bass fish alot though

Yep a 10 lber is a beast, I was fortunate enough to catch one on a frog 3 yrs ago in Sam Rayburn. I was shaking so bad when I got her in the boat I could barely stand

I've always said for me a double digit. I have an 8.5 on the wall and the one in my pic is 10.2. Pics were taken of the 10.2 and she was released back on her bed. I'd go the replica route next time. Hopefully I have enough life left or lucky enough to catch a bigger one! I shook more for the 8.5 than I did for the 10.2.

I caught a 5.5 and mounted it. Considering I never bass fish except once every 10 years if that, that'll prolly be the biggest I ever catch unless I luck up

I'd say bass can grow a lot bigger down south than they do here in Indiana, but if I were to hook into a ten pounder I'd call that a fish of a lifetime. I'd have a hard time not putting one on the wall if I caught something in the six to eight pound range.

Caught a 13.8 in 1998 and I don't ever expect to top that. Have caught a 9 and a cpl of 8's since but no double digits.

Bass, depends where you at.

If I'm fishing a roadside canal and hook a 4lber that's a fish of lifetime.

If you fishing lake fork and hook a 12 pounder that's a fish of a lifetime.

Depends more on the situation than anything.

I fish a lake that has quality fish, but they are incredibly stubborn and finicky

I've learned to live vicariously through the fish I help others to catch, especially my children. The pics attached are actually two different muskies, both 39" long and between 19 and 20 lbs that my sons caught a few years back. The striped bass was caught yesterday, and weighed in at 6.5 lbs, our biggest bass to date. I also fondly remember helping a 12 year old korean exchange student on his first time ever fishing. He caught a 5 lb largemouth bass from a reservoir.
