v bay 6-22

went to the outside rigs, nice water, nothing but hardheads. was gonna try the reefs but was tired of getting beat to death by the waves.

ended up finding some trout on the north side of Marsh island chasing shrimp.

anyone else catch?

with reefmans post, hopefully our time is near!

How long is the run to tiger shoal. And which route is better, east side of marsh island r the pass? Ive never been there.

i went to verm 31 rigs. 10 miles south of the pass. the wind has to be right otherwise the trip is a bit rough. going in the morning wasn't bad, coming back was a bit bumpy.

there are other rigs in the area. I have fished the SMI 21 rigs with the same success.

alphaman 06-23-2013 07:37 PM

Not bad. I would have to follow someone, that way ill know the where i can pass and where I cant pass as for fishing the reefs. Ive only been to pavey and t butte.

Do they still have wellheads at tiger shoals?

PathfinderNI 06-23-2013 08:13 PM

Alphaman...

From the Quintana landing out to SMI-217 which is one of the main rigs in the area it's about 25 miles....the shortest route from Cypremort Point is definitely through the pass....

I think my gps has the offshore blocks on it, dont known of its numbered . When I was out by pavey I saw it had a black squares....

I went to nickel reed late Thursday. We picked up 33 I think the action is east. Tight line and tight belts. GL!

Caught a couple schoolie trout same place. Birds were all over it. Also caught a nice red in the bayou. Pretty slow.
