Henderson

I have recently moved to Scott, LA and was wanting to check out the henderson area. I grew up fishing the Mermentau River and Lake Arthur so I'm use to tough fishing and can adapt so any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.. THANKS

Get a map or look it up online. Go out there and fish. Things change there alot. But nothing beats being on the water

I really wasnt looking for anything specific just general info. I will go no matter what thats the reason we go is to figure it out, just thought I'd start a little BS session about the place.... THANKS

pretty good place.. just about any point on the lake you can catch fish. Pelba and Bigeaux lakes are the two most popular.. Fish all up and down them, I try to find spots with less grass, but they have fish in the grass too

Get ready because once it gets down to 9' and falling its on ! I think it's somewhere around 13 and falling now.

When the water is falling look for drains coming off the cypress flats. Throw a shad colored bandit 200 crankbait....bout to be on

If you bass fishing they should be as far back in the trees as you can pitch.

water is falling right now. still in the 13ft range, but falling. I went look at the launch Saturday under I-10. FULL of weekend warriors with family.

bream and saccalait fishing good around I-10, old railroad tracks, coves, cypress tress. Lots of boat traffic especially on weekends! About half of them just riding around enjoying the water, jet skis, etc.

Fished a tournament this weekend. Didnt get a bite. The guys that won fished the flats. The banks arnt to good for what I could gather because the fish were wayyyy up in the trees. I could hear blow ups every now and then. But, frogs worked around the hyicen patches.

Monday afternoon

Caught 9 keepers between 2 boats this afternoon(bass). Find grass patches off the flats with moving water even better. Caught on variety of lures mostly on top water presentations. The flats are getting real thick with hydrilla n pushing fish to the edges. Look for patchy spots with "holes".
