Giles island

Anyone ever hunt here? I'm thinking of booking a bow and rifle hunt there this season for my son and I. I'd like to see if anyone has any experiences good/bad they can share. I really want Hunter to get a good deer this year after the crap he's been through. Make a wish won't take kids hunting and that's all he wants to do. I think he will use his make a wish to go to Alaska on a fishing trip if they will allow us to do that. It's up to him.

My dad went one year. I don't know if anything has changed but when he went the guides tell you which deer to shoot. And if the "right" deer never walks out you end up paying high dollar to watch deer all weekend.

Hunted and fished G I when it was a club. The club had killed off most of the bucks and it was does only back then late 80's. I can remember catching bass that never went under 2#'s up to 6# in late summer. You could pick a 5 gallon bucket of black berries in one spot. The number of old broncos on that place made me drool. It was and is a paradise just now it cost so much to find paradise.

A girl I went to college with is friends with the family that owns it. She kills some monsters with a bow every year there

Thanks for the replys. Still waiting on dates available from them. I have yet to actually hear from anyone who has actually hunted there. I think I'll try on Bayou Bucks too.

The place is incredible and one of the best places in Louisiana/Mississippi to have a chance at a true monster in a non high-fenced area. The guides will be sitting with you as they are there to tell you what to shoot because they manage that place very very well. Never heard anything bad other than that the guides are sitting with you.
The family that owns this is extremely wealthy and not there to make money, the money goes right back into the place. The food is supposed to be top notch as well. I haven't seen the youngest son in quite a few years, but from the pics I have seen of him lately, he has been eating well:rotfl:

The last sentence of this ad says that the "guide delivers the fatal shot."

I've been there a few times several years back. I trained a couple blood trailing dogs for them & hunted opening w/e several years straight. The guides are very good there & will go above & beyond to help you son harvest a trophy. They have some absolute monsters there. Seen several 150"+, I was there to shoot does. Or I could have gave them the dog or $2k for a buck. Think you & your son will be pleased. The rut there is unbelievable!

I received a list of dates today and picked the week of October 28th. I'm waiting for a reply. I kinda wanted to make a bow and a rifle hunt. Not sure if they have any rifle days left also waiting on that reply. If not we will just make the one bow hunt this year. Looking forward to hunting there. I hope Hunter gets a good buck. We shall see.....
