MS River action this weekend!
 

The water is getting right in Geismar so, I decided to launch the boat yesterday for some much needed aqua therapy. I had a tough time catching any bait in my cast net but, I did manage to catch one decent shad. In turn, it produced 3 real nice blues for me. Before leaving, I suddenly have company on board with me so, we set out a trot line baited with crawfish that my friend caught out of a ditch nearby.

This morning, I headed out, son in tow to check the results. PAYDIRT! We had set a 15 hook trot line and, it produced 10 real nice blue cats! They went from 3lbs to 10lbs. We ran a few limb lines in different areas while we were out there and, one of them produced another nice blue at about 5 lbs. We've got the lines soaking right now and, will be headed back out in a couple of hours to run em for the last time this week.

When I was working at Shell gismer we used to go fish the ponds behind the levee just south of the plant about two weeks after the water went down and we would kill them.

Get the grease hot!!!

Caught 7 more this evening. Will post a pic tomorrow. In hot water for missing most of mothers day right now! LOL!

I took a full verbal assault for hauling butt with my son most of the day yesterday but, after consulting him, he said it was worth because we caught a LOT of BIG FISH!:rotfl::redface:
