Vernon lake problems

Ive been fishing Vernon lately, first time I've ever really fished it, and was catching decent numbers of white perch, crappie or sacs whatever u want to call them anyway with the recent coldfront I've only caught a few. Anybody catching any not looking for exact spot just wanting to know what I'm doing wrong.

I live on vernon lake but have been running out to toledo bend mostly for the last couple months. With that said the crappie have been staged pretty shallow for the last 2 months on vernon. People typically were catching them in 1-5 ft of water with jig under cork. However they have now moved back out to their pre spawn staging areas and even back into brushpiles. Look for them on creek bed edges from 10-25 ft with brushpiles.

It's a tough time of year for vernon, because they are not really all the way on brush in deep water yet, and are still quite scattered. on a lake where you can slow troll weedlines that's not a problem... but for most of vernon lake if you try to slow troll anything your gonna have a very bad day.
