Yeah, just heard it on the radio.....then they played "He stopped lovin her today". Put a couple of goose bumps on my arms.

BayBolt23 04-26-2013 10:42 AM

I got his autograph when I was 10 years old! Didn't even know who the man was, my mom said that's George Jones a famous country singer! So I ran up to him with a pen and paper! Very nice guy! RIP

Losing the greats RIP George...can't stand some of this crap we have today...

SaltERedneck 04-26-2013 10:48 AM

Yeah "He stopped loving her today" never meant as much to me as it does now. I think of my wife everytime i hear that song. I will love her til the day i die... I can rememeber going out to the camp and getting whiskey bent and hell bound on ole George, Hank Williams, David Allan Coe, and many more. Just some good old fashioned country boys singin their azzes off about stuff that actually used to mean something in the world.

I bet Saint Pete is saying to George right now..."Step right up. Come on in"

I copied this from the comments on Yahoo. I think it pretty much says it all.
