Ideas for having a back deck built

I recently bought a 18 ft Kenner. The one thing I don't like is the lack of a back deck. My question is does anyone know where I could have one fabricated in the Lake Charles area or has anyone done the same and have pics or ideas they wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks for any input!

If you've never done fiberglass it could be tough. Someone can put one in for you for under $700 maybe a little more depending on what you want done, how big/nice you want it.

Idk there is only about 3 1/2 to 4 ft to actually use and id need a decent size hatch to get to batteries and havea place for a back seat for the wife.

yeah thats exactly what i'm looking for. do you know where he had it made or if it came with the boat?

I dont like the kenner's with the deacks like that because of the ones I've, seen it stays nasty and filthy under there due to it being harder to keep clean. May problem is that the batteries arent protected from the salt water really.

I would prefer the solid closed up back deck with hatches and compartments. My 18 Kenner just has the 2 compartments in the corners with the gap in between.

here's what my kenner back deck looked like. It was an 18'6" boat. It came like that from the factory though I think

the middle wasnt a sealed compartment and there was a slit between the deck and the wall in the middle for water to pass to the back of the boat. There was a livewell on one side and a battery compartment on the other

Call Max at Olmstede shipyard in LC or AAA fiberglass, also owned by an olmstede brother.

Cool deal, I need something like that to cover up the batteries and all the wires. And an elevated spot for someone to fish off the back would be nice. Thanks for the pics!

does your buddy's boat have a seat on the back bench? And when you see him could you ask if that is factory or if he had it put in if you dont mind
