Moving to South LA

My wife is being transferred to Belle Chasse, and I am retiring from 25 years of coaching and teaching public school in MS. We are looking for suggestions of where to live. No further than 30-45 min from Belle Chasse. I grew up on the bayou and presently have a house on the gulf. We would love to do a long term rental on a fish camp till we get settled. My goal is to substitute teach just enough to buy my gas and bait (2 days a week) and fish the rest of the time. Any ideas? I have a 21' key west and a 16' carolina skiff and looking for guides.

Belle Chasse is pretty good, as is just down the road to Myrtle Grove. South Plaquemines HS in Buras will be brand spankin' new and they always have issues finding teaching personnel that far down the road. Fishing after work would work out just fine, too.

Belle Chasse is a pretty decent area. Just about the public stuff is new down there schools included. What grade you looking to sub in for.
