I know nothing about the lake, but I know they crushed the bass this past weekend. Friend of ours had 18 before 9:30 with a 9lb and multiples 6s

My go to bait on Caney has always been a weightless watermelon seed fluke

I went a few years ago and stayed at the state park.. When we checked in they gave me a rough hand drawn map of the lake that they give to guests w/ known brush piles and other "hot pots". Maybe launch at the park and try to get your hands on one of those maps and go from there.

Tough lake to fish if you are used to south louisiana fishing. The lake has very little cover cept for boat docks and peirs. Our hunting lease is 5 miles from it and I still never wet a line in it.

I have a friend that lives on Caney Lake and you can really catch some good fish on that lake. His dad is 2nd on the state record list for black crappie and right now he is only keeping crappie over 16 inches for a stringer mount. He said his dad uses shiners and they are in about 5 ft of water right now. He fishes flukes for bass and does great

Bob, you know a guide up there named Patrick Paxton? He bought some lures from me...all "barfish" pattern. The dude smokes the big bass on that lake.

launch at browns landing and take right when ur almost at smiths creek this time of year there is a small cove with docks to ur right we sink brush pile hundreds of them they hold giant bass I fish them with a quarter ounce shakey head by xcite baits they have the strongest shakey head hook on the market stay about 20 yards from the bank and work it back to the boat. If you don't catch a good kicker go into smiths creek under the bridge and throw a 3/4 oz trap u should get them with that.
