Question

HI Guys.. From 7, 500' of DEEP BLU..

Question: I was driving to heliport in Houma last Thursday morning.. I drive a 2007 tundra 4 door crewmax SR5..

Anyway the gas gauge just stops working and the needle fell to below E..

Any Tundra drivers this has happened to..

Since it the only gauge that stopped working I don't think it's a fuse..

Can NOT find the fuse location diagram in my owners manual..

I called around to about 5 dealerships.. A fuel tank sending unit is anywhere from $91-$125 for the part..

Labor is anywhere from 2.1-4 hr.'s to change it out..

Labor from $103-$118 an hr... This S__ IIITTT Is starting to cut into my fishing money..

Definitely thinking about trading this thing in for a late model F 150 4x4.

Any Suggestions??? Or knowledge???

Again the service reps @ the dealership are pointing to the Sending unit not A Fuse problem..:pissed::pissed::pissed:

Thks

Check it out on tundratalk.com. If you think a $300 repair is cutting into your fishing money wait untill you get into a late a late model F 150 4x4. After 15 years of having a note i figured out it's cheaper to keep them.

If you drop the tank might as well change out the fuel pump while it's down, wouldn't doubt if all that crap is in the same unit. Fix it and keep driving, almost always cheaper to fix a toyota.

Get an F-150 and you'll be wishing all you had to deal with was a sending unit!!
