SW LA fishing and boating info.
 

We will be headed down to LC/Hackberry area in late March to look around. We are presently in way north Arkansas in The Ozarks.

We've done the Lower Laguna Madre/way So. TX thing as far as flats fishing is concerned and recently sold our big flats scooter.

We just want warmer winters and not screaming hot summers like So. TX.

Anyway, poling around marshes and small canals casting at reds is what we really want to do so does anyone have any insight for the SW LA area? We will get another boat but will be smaller/lighter like a poling skiff (Ranger Banshee Extreme or similar) We're mid-60s so just need easier fishing and lifestyle.

If you can, point me to specific info for the area please give location names, GPS coordinates etc. Not looking to potlick your hot spots just general info about the area.

We have an excellent fishery here. The Calcasieu estuary has all the red fishing you want. BUT, we have screaming hot summers! 99 degrees and 99-100% humidity is what you will enjoy here! But you will have some mighty fine fishing!

The bayou Dularge south of Houma is also a great area to catch reds in shallow marsh ponds. It's a year round fishery.

the best skinny water fishing for reds in Louisiana is on the east side. Hopedale, Reggio, Delacroix, Grand Isle, Venice, Empire, Buras
