210 launch and fishing

Haven't been down fishin in LA in a couple years. Was curious if anyone has hit up the 210 launch recently. Want to take my grandpa out and want an easy short run that's easy for him. We used to have a lot of success near rabbit island. Any news or updates would be greatly appreciated! -Roy

When this chart gets back up above 5 ......fishing will get better in the Prien lake area. Rain is forcast for the next couple of days and that is not good for our salt water fishing.

you can try launching at Calcasieu Point and run to LNG, may be kinda slow but I've seen people this week catch a few in there. Should be an easy ride too.

Fished plastics out of Prien Park Tuesday. One nice fat drum was it. (released) Motor ran good, salinity still too low.

Yeah we made a quick trip yesterday afternoon in the horrible winds. Picked up two reds.

Fished there Friday and Saturday , water was terrible but managed a limit of flounder and reds

ruined two tires, and bent a bracket on my trailer at that launch, I will never use that one again, especially as the 210 launch is so nice, and right around the corner

Yes......please clarify what launch you are talking about.

My guess......is that he is talking about the boat launch that is located just to the north of the I-10 bridge on the east side.

I have not launched at the I-10 location in 12+ years because of the bad drop-off at the end of the concrete ramp. Back then....if you backed down next to the north side bulkhead, only the "south" tire on the trailer would drop down about 6".

If you backed down anywhere else on the boat launch.....good luck getting out with out doing damage to something.

The one that's under the I-10 bridge, i guess I hit it at the wrong tide, the water was a lot lower than when I got there that morning. trailer went off the end of the ramp, bent the bracket that holds my boards, and ruined my two tires

and, if the tide is real high, you have to back a long way, and if you have to get out your truck, you'll get soaked.
