Wind jacket?
The jackets at academy/gander are extremely expensive. What do y'all use in the winter time instead of having to wear a trillion layers up top. Are they worth the money?

Fleece bottom layer and a wind proof/waterproof shell top.
Bass pro has the qualifier and 100mph series w/ Gor-Tex Check em out. U will stay warm. Also drake has the wader jackets that are nice too. |
I have an old wool 3/4 zip sweater from Cabelas with the WindStopper in it and it is all I wear most days outside in the cold especially if its windy.
A good ol PVC raincoat is about the best there is for breaking up the wind on a long boat ride though |
all you need is an LSU hoodey;)....we KNOW you want one... get rid of that UT or aTm jacket and you should be fine lol.

Not a jacket but this is a bad to the bone hat. It is 100% water and wind proof. Not resistant. Great for that freezing boat ride in the morning. They had hunters orange and black when I ordered mine but I don't see that option any more.

I use my drake hunting jacket, it has several layers so you can adjust as the day warms and it covers most of your face
|
get you a big woman to snuggle up with in the boat...... shade in the summer, warmth in the winter.

Bahahahaha |
Splurge on a good base layer, I like Marmott. WELL worth the money.
I buy what skiers and boarders wear for their base layers and it works better than all the stuff I went through before. Backpacker in Laf carries it, not sure about pack and paddle. North Face and Patagonia will do the job well too. |
I just wear my duck hunting jacket...sometimes I wear under armor if its really cold
|
Yea under armor and a good wind breaker will work and less bulky
|
Any Gore-Tex. I have a jacket and bib that I use for cold weather airboat rides for work from bass pro. They are pricey but well worth it. Not too bulky and very warm.

This is what we got issued. Water and wind proof. Very warm. Try a military surplus store.
