My daughters first hog!

Decided since she had a few days off from school that I would take her to the lease for some hunting. This morning temp was 28 kinda cold but she stuck it out, day light came and seen a good spike with about 8" spikes so I told her to get ready, when the spike got within shooting range she let off a shot and dropped it in its tracks then stood back up and ran off, looked for blood and deer for a couple hours and found nothing at all, went back for the afternoon hunt to try again and 5 pigs came out that she spotted so I told her to shoot but time it dropped and stayed there,pig weighed 155 lbs. she was very excited and so was I,also very proud of her, all I can say is that it was a very good day!!! Yes it would have been her first deer, she would hunt with me when she was younger but she would fall asleep in the stand, it would have been a hellava hunt if she could have got the spike in the morning and pig in the afternoon. |
