Ranger makes a solid boat....that hull is a old champion design

Great boat runs shallow and very light
You don’t want to push it for 200 yards across a almost dry sough with a falling tide.. Driver said damn look at the red fish in that pond I think I can make it through this slough. The four letter words started flying about the time we came to a dead stop. It only took us 3 hours of pushing to get it out. Really nice boat though. |
Never mind I thought the Bahia was the flats boat.

sweet looking boat

Underpowered big time; champion rated that same hull for a 250
Now ranger has it rated max for 150..... To keep the price at 33-35k Depending on dealer. Also the boat needs a tandem axle... The package price is with a single. It's a great boat; no doubt. But ranger has screwed it up big time!! We test rode one in fla last summer; 3 people , 20 gallon gas, flam calm no fishing equiptment.....47 mph top speed..... That's burning 20+gph. If you not worried about being fuel efficient and having ability to move fast if needed; go for it. It's a fantastic boat. Also search many dealers , not just local and LA dealers. There are many deals out there on these boats. |
Actually that boat was design by Seaswirl/wellcraft and was later made
by Champion. The little changes by Ranger are nice but max hp rating of 150 is Ranger attempt to make this boat come in at a low price point. I have been on this boat and feels like a typical 21 1/2 bay boat nothing special, top end speed with 2 people was 45 with 1/2 tank of gas no trolling motor the 150 hp is slightly underpowering the boat to me. The nautic star 2110 is a better match for a 150 hp due to its 92 in. beam comparing to the Ranger Bahia wider beam which make the Bahia a slower boat by 4 to 5 mph. |
