Need to buy a Gun Safe

I have a couple of little ones running around the house now and need to get something to lock-up the guns to keep them safe. After some quick price checking Academy seems to have some pretty good deals. They have a low end "Cannon" or a "Sentry" both of which offer a little fire protection and weigh about 390lbs for around $500. I am not too concerned about the fire protection because that is what insurance is for, but want something to keep the kids and opportunisic theifs away from them. Anyone have any knowledge on these safes?

Dink feel free to Chime in. Do you have anything comparable?

You need to check your homeowners policy well. most will only cover up to a certian ammt. on guns unless you have added a rider to the policy.
same w/ fishing gear and jewelry.

Check tractor supply. They carry Cannon. Just bought a 36 gun for $999.00, they carry smaller sizes. Got mine in Zachary.

Boy do I have what you need!!!! Come by the shop.......LaFleur's Safe & Lock 222 E. Pinhook Rd. in Lafayette.......Near Chastants.......OR give us a call at 233-1949

If you do decide to get one from Academy...........DO NOT get the sentry..........cannon is junk too, but it is the better of the 2.............Also, if you do get one from there, call Me, I'll come bolt it down for you...........Gun Safes are top heavy and DO fall over onto little ones!!!

Man, I was hoping not to have to bolt it down. That is going to be a very hard sell to the wife. I was thinking at close to 400 lbs they would be stable enough to stand alone. I know it took all 220 lbs of me to budge the floor models at Academy. I may have to give Tim and Tractor Supply a shot. I have always wanted to stop and look around that place.

Ray, you are probably right about the insurance. But I just can't justify spending 2+ grand to protect maybe 3 grand worth of guns from fire.

Mods!
He is cursing me , Calling me Ray.
J/K ray, A rider is not that exspensive ,
other stuff besides guns can be included.
Not saying don't get a fire safe but all it takes is a phone call to get a price on a policy.
