Duck hunting has come a long ways...

Since this video was shot. Pretty neat though. Some pretty good shooting and dog handling for 1939. Notice the "camo" lol

puts alot into perspective...lol

The evolution of logistics for duck hunters is amazing. Just think we are able to access areas we never could. We are lucky to have the duck numbers we do considering the amount of hunters along with the availability to hunt areas otherwise untouchable in 1939!!

And yes, I will be wearing a brown sports coat along with a tie opening day. Duck hunting is a genteman's sport. :grinpimp:

With the advent of go-devils and surface drives we sure can go further into the marsh. Use to be you had to walk the marsh or paddle a pirouque.

For all you avid duck hunters. If you have never heard of "Pie" champagne this is a neat article.

According to a co-coworker of mine ducks are color blind so what you wear don't matter. He's about half a bubble off level though.

I work for the lodge in the article. Lacassane is truly a very traditional lodge. A ton of history is there.

You don't know how many time I have watch this one and other films like it. I grew up on Avery Island and would not trade it for the world. Yea them old Mcilhenny boy sure dressed funny for hunting they still do. My dad ran there duck camp for years !!!! I grew learning how to shoot back up hunting with them and became a very good shot at a young age. Thanks for the post kinda reminds me of running around that place as a kid although I am not that old (product of the early 70's ) it is still the same as it was back then
