was fishing in west cove last tuesday..caught fish in picture..some were caught under birds in lake...any way.

.in west cove, I was watching a boat..they would approach the birds and throw something in the water..looked like some type of small pellets..anyway, birds moved on... but these guys caught for a while in that spot...it seems like the "pellets" or whatever.... kept the fish in the area for a longer period of time than usual...;

anybody know what they were throwing in the water and for whom?

either fish or shrimp..??

Only thing that can comes to my mind would be range cubes or pellets. Possibly even Pogey mill. It is what everyone is using for shrimping right now. It attracts the shrimp. Never heard of it used under birds but I can see people trying it to try and keep the shrimp in one little area. Most shrimp under birds though are running for their lives, not sure it dropping pellets would make them hang around any longer. Worth a try though. Most shrimpers behind weirs all use some form of it. Definitely works on shrimp though. Can be picked up at any feed store.
