I've had that happen to me once in Lake Borgne. The school wasn't quite that big though. All 4 of us limited out in less than an hour.

To tell you the truth, you can see that all the time in biglake if you know what to look for. We see it almost every other day out there if its calm enuff. Its easy when theres birds on them or their busting on top but 90% of the time we find them out in the middle under slicks. If you ever wondered what them guide boats are doing out in the dead middle of the lake, alot of the time its cashing big schools of redfish. It just takes a good understanding of reading and chasing slicks cause redfish schools are always moving and can move fast.

Man, I've never seen anything like that before. I don't think I would know what to do with myself if I would see that.

Redfish

Been in the surf at Fourchon catching specks allmost every cast and look up the beach and see everyone running out the surf. thought maybe a shark or something . kept looking that direction and saw the water turning to foam. realised what it was and hightailed it back towards the shore myself.
Massive school of bull reds in less that thigh deep water .
suckers looked like they would just run you over if you stayed in their way.
moving very fast. We each hooked up and both of us got spooled.
After they moved thru it was like the trout vanished . We didn't catch another trout in that area
