Burnt out bridge

Anyone been in the area lately? I would think the specks should be up in the river.

I haven't fished down there in several years but we used to smoke the bass on a DOA shrimp once these little fronts start coming through.

I'm hoping for specks/reds/flounder but I'm not against a few greeny's on the side.:D

I thought that was just north of the interstate on the main river?

fishingonewild 09-27-2012 05:12 PM

CaptainBG 09-27-2012 06:02 PM

It's old hwy 90. That was the road that went from la to tx prior the interstate. Beautiful area.

This is south of Vinton, LA on old Hwy 90.

Get off I-10 at the Toomey exit and go south. About a mile+ the road down take a right at the "T". Go about 3/4 mile and take a left at the stop sign. Go about 4 miles to the end of this road. The launch is where there use to be a wooden bridge that crossed the Sabine river.

May want to check but I'm pretty sure the 14" limit is north of interstate.

A friend of mine fished a tournament a few weeks back on Sabin. They was of course targeting bass but caught quite a few big flounder and reds.

thanks would like to go check it out someday.. its not a long boat ride from the launch it self?

Bluechip 09-28-2012 07:56 AM

No.... You can start fishing as soon as you launch. It's all right there. A lot of people fish off the bank from the side of the road.... Good place to take kids. They can play when they get tired of fishing.

SULPHITE 09-28-2012 09:09 AM

is that road still like a 3rd world goat path?
