The new Cheddars in Lafayette

I'm not one to complain about a restaurant. I know how hard of a job that is and I could never do it, however this place is f'n ridiculous!! I ordered a Coors Light and the guy tells me he runs it through as a Corona Light:confused: Does it matter? Undo the transaction and rerun it!! He brings the damn Carona!! On top of that I had to flag down the manager to get me a water after asking the waiter 3 times for a glass. Ordered our meal and a meal to go for my brother; the meal to go comes out 40 minutes BEFORE our meal. After talking to 2 other waiters and the manager our food finally came out. I would have chased down my dog for his rawhide before eating that garbage:pissed:! The ol lady's food was good, bit who screws up chicken tender!. The manager offered to take half off, but I told him to make his money off of me now because he wasn't getting a second chance!! Sorry about the rant but I was fuming and needed to vent.

Thanks for the warning. I'm sure my old lady would have wanted to try it being that it's a new nice looking building

Where is it located

I never go to a new restaurant during the first 2 months. They are working out kinks and things will go wrong during this training time. I would wait a couple months and go back. I actually like Cheddars food as I ate it once a week when I worked in Beaumont a few years back. Probably one of the best Bar and Grill restaurants in its class, IMO.

A little past Coyote Blues and Tampico's on Johnston St.

I've been to one in Houston. I liked it. Definitely better than Applebees, and Chili's. They just opened and it's gonna be a cluster for a few weeks. There's more turnover of staff in the first month of a restaurant than the first year! They gotta weed thru the rejects.

I was not impressed by the quality of the food the one time I was there either. I went to the one in Monroe btw.

The one in Beaumont has always been good when we visit... They probably just need to work the kinks out....

I had lunch there on Thursday. Service was very slow. They are definitely still in a "training mode", but like others have said, let them work out the kinks and I am sure the service will improve. I ordered the monte cristo which is different thinly sliced meat and lots of cheese all piled on fresh bread, dipped in a thick batter and deep fried. Served with raspberry jam. It was AWESOME. I thought it was better than Bennigan's monte cristo. Hamburgers looked good too. Potato skins are a great appetizer. I will wait a bit and definitely give them another try.

There is one of these opening in Bloomington soon. Sounds to me like it is another place from the same mold as Applebee's, Chili's, etc.

My general rull of thumb is to not go to any restaurant for at least the first 3 months. Then once all the kinks are worked out I go.

I'd give them another shot in a 2 or 3 months.
