So what I'm reading is they've changed & moved state waters from 3 miles out to just over 10????

Correct. And there is talk of running a state snapper season on weekends only

"Until the time when the US Congress confirms the commission’s action, fishermen are urged to use caution and their own personal judgment when fishing beyond the three mile boundary that is currently recognized as federal waters, as it is fully expected that federal agents and the U.S. Coast Guard will continue to enforce federal law. LDWF agents will also enforce federal regulations which are concurrent with state law within the new zone."

Just a side note.
The Coast Guard that patrols the gulf of Mexico do not enforce game laws, only safety laws.
The LDWF are the Fed game wardens in the Gulf, they act as both due to grant from the Feds that pays for the boats and fuel they use to patrol fed waters.
Every once in a while you might bump into a true Fed though.
This is a great step in the right direction just wish it would help me out of Cameron. Looks like I'll be driving to Grand Isle more.

It is always good to see a state exercising more of its Constitutional powers (Amendments 9 and 10) in response to a oppressive and foolish Federal bureaucracies. It is a positive that the benefits will probably extend beyond the fishing communities to all the citizens of Louisiana, and if more domestic oil is produced, to all Americans.

Smells fishy to me on the royalty side....things are not just given away....nothing is free! I hope it does spur on some activity with the oilfield!!!!
