Core Vs. Chronarch

If they both cost the same amount of money what reel would you pick for BL? Which one stands up better to salt, cast further, etc?

Why the 50 vs 100? Just a size preference?

Core 50 on Waterloo. Light as a cane pole. Never owned a Chronarch, but I will try one.

I had 2 Core's and they both froze up in less than a year due to corrosion. I use Chronarch ch100d7's for everything now.

none last forever????

Montauk17 05-16-2012 06:16 PM

How long did they last before you changed em

jldsc 05-16-2012 06:33 PM

Im with you Ryan...Way more$$$ for a reel that is just a lil lighter and still have to work on it....I know personal preference is the main factor, but if you seriously cant hold a slightly heavier reel for a day.....????? again personal preference

Depends...... All of them lasted over a year....

Changed all of them to ceramic bearings and have only changed one of those so far....

My oldest one has a little rash from saltwater but I got all mine for $215 and 3 were Free so that makes a big diffrence

BloodKnot 05-16-2012 07:32 PM

I own both and like both. I would go with the Core because I like the feel of it a little better but its a true win-win.

Salty 05-16-2012 09:26 PM

W, you shouldn't have any problems with your reels. Only about 20% of your casts even reach the water.

:p

I've seen you cast....remember?
