Mermentu rive late day

Got in from offshore decided to bring grandson fishing. Launched in mermentau tried a few spots picked up some small white perch throwbacks about 6 or 7 inches long.three half foot deep with shiners no luck with jigs last spot under trestles picked up 6 keepers but the wanted 18 inch deep only had a few hours but full moon and current does not help. Another week or two I will just spend week. Brushing piles and putting out feed.no pic gave to dad what can u do with six.also garfish are already a problem.

Last time I catfished around the mermentau I caught more garfish than I care to see too. I would have kept one to try out some gar steaks, but they were too small. Good luck to you and your grandson and thanks for the report
