Fish Vector??? Night Fishing?

well its a safe bet that its gonna be a extremely hot summer. i was thinking about purchasing one of those fish vector under water lights and trying it on big lake this summer to beat the heat a little bit. Does any one on here have experience with one ? would it be worth it ? i think it could yield some fun nights. :smokin:

I have a friend that uses it on P-Train and says its not fair to the fish

BayBolt23 04-19-2012 05:51 PM

I been wanting to get one

flounder_smacker 04-19-2012 06:12 PM

summer is going to be mild. the light works good.

I had one, caught all of our fish under sodium lights and the vector broke on my 2nd trip out.

Actually I still have it, it just was not effecive compared to 1,000 to 1,500 sodium lights and I never did get it fixed.

Clampy 04-19-2012 06:39 PM

how did it break. thats kinda what i was wondering if it was a solid product. my sister lives on the P and ive never fished it. it will be high on my list once i get a light

If you have a pier to put it on and shore power go w/ the sodium vapor. Just make sure that no one can touch it . Will burn the skin right off ya hand.

That thing is way overpriced. I got the same light (doesn't have the sound though) from academy for 20 bucks and it works great. my buddy and me tried them both brands out of different boats, the same night, and I caught more than he did.

Clampy 04-19-2012 07:27 PM

is the one at academy that bright? even if it isnt i guess i could get a gang of them for 20$

SaltyShaw 04-19-2012 07:32 PM

Y'all go try the academy ones out and let me know how it goes I wanna do that myself

Clampy 04-19-2012 07:51 PM

i guess im a little worried about a high powered light that im putting in the water if it only cost 20$ i know you get what you pay for most times

I have night fished plenty under lights and in dark and have done good but the thought of big lake on a nice summer night with no crazy people running around and a nice tide and your fav reef is glowing like supermarket gets me going.

I think I may have caught a semi if you would have mentioned ice cold beer

Clampy 04-19-2012 08:06 PM

A semi? Son I'm full blown over here. Remember our little "Hackberry Potlickin' reef" ? where we smashed em 4 days in a row? Son, can you imagine some lights on that thing? I've just about gave up saltwater, but that'd be worth it.

I would buy a few of them if I were you. doesnt look like enough light for how deep Lake P is

sparkyc4 04-20-2012 09:05 AM

May try that, only (Minor) problem would be the 10ft cord. It already takes 5' to get from batteries to water.

sparkyc4 04-20-2012 09:07 AM

Maybe I should make a rig for these lights to go underwater :)
