Got a late start this morning thanks to LSU tailgating and rain chances. Got to Breton Sound Marina around 7:45 am and got to the spot at 8. Talk to the lady at the launch were she told me that the tide was just starting to go out. Talk about dumb luck on our part it definitely was not something we planned. Within 10 minutes of the start of fishing hooked up on a double of two almost twin reds. That set the stage for a great day of fishing where we came home with 5 nice reds, 4 nice specks, and a flounder. We let a few reds go that were big enough because I am very quickly getting tired of cleaning those monsters. Had a blast catching reds and specks on topwater and mirror lures. All around a great 4 hours of fishing. On a side note changing the avatar to the great pic of me in my life jacket because I learned last week that the J16 Carolina Skiff is really 15' 8". The new law of this year states that a less than 16' boat with a tiller driven motor you have to wear your life jacket while the motor is running. Thanks for the written warning game warden!:help:

i cant beleive they make u wear a life jacket...thats sorta dumb ya know..but id feel safer if mah kid or something like that was forced to wear one..the thing is wat difference is it gonna make wether its over 16 feet or not ya know...in mah 16 foot go-devil i dont have to wear one..cause ive been stopped..so how is that any different also..

i know what you mean HH. I am not sure what those 4" would make a difference but that is the way it goes. I can't afford to tell them what I really think by not wearing the lj. I just need to go get the boat reregistered as a 16'.
|
yep thats all itll take..id just get a 4 inch piece of wood..and stick it on ur transom..lol...
speck..come on and potlick away.. |
