iPad 2
Can any of you guys tell me if you can activate a new iPad without connecting it to iTunes? My wife got me one and brought it to me here where I'm working but I can't play with it cause it says I have to connect to iTunes. I don't have my laptop here with me and it sucks to have a new toy and can't play with it!

You just have to connect to an available wifi when first used.

It won't do anything. When you power it on it shows a pic of a USB plug and an arrow pointing to iTunes. This is my first one and I got the 3G. I guess when I go to AT&T to get service they give you a sims for it?

I have the 3G AT&T ipad2 n just set up everything from the iPad , maybe u need to charge it

Yeh I got one too. I never hooked it up 2 ITunes. Just fired it up and hooked up to wifi. I haven't added service to it with AT&T yet. Maybe that's why you have to hook it up to iTunes. I doubt it though prob just needs to be charged like CBus said.

Going to AT&T after work today to get my 3G rolling. Do you have to sign a contract for the service?
