I like my minn Kota but to each is their own

Dad has the 101 minnkota on his 20ft champion bass boat and he loves it...no complaints.

They all have good handles. The problem with handles is when you are in high let off before using the handle to turn. All of them will losen up when trying to do this all the time. Simple solution is to get a bigfoot handle to add to the shaft and this will elimianate the handle problem

What I had on my 109 lb.
Motor has to be off, cant turn on high, to much torque.

Busted too many hand control MGs in the chop on previous boats. Running an MK 101 wireless now, been a really good unit. Was a 'doubter' when I saw it at first, but really like the convenience of running it from anywhere.

I had a minn kota on my old boat ... Hated it so I threw it away n bought a 36v motor guide... Loved it! My new boat came with a minn Kota 36v .... Just waiting for me to destroy it so I can put a motor guide on it . The key is putting a "kickstand " on it so it is supported when in the stowed position and in rough water

My next one will be motor guide !

I have a mk pro 80#. add the bounce buster it is well worth the few extra $. btw, never had an issue with it.

I had a mk 80 on my Kenner for 3.5 years and it only broke one time and it was 7years old when I got it. I've had mg great white for not even a year and had to replace the shaft and the plastic housing on the head has cracked. It's pretty much a ford vs chevy debate

How did you mess up a stainless steel shaft? Plastic housing on either minn kota or motorguide will not last if you do not use a handle like prokontroll. Too much stess on plastic does not mix.

Sounds like to forgot to pick it up and got on step......I bent them a few times. Nothing a 2x4 and a hammer won't fix.
