12.09.2011 Three in a Row

The last two days were amazing and I wasn't really planning on going today, but when a friend offered to take me in his boat I had no problem accepting. We went to the same spot, fished with the same lures, and got the same results. We set up on our first drift at 11:30 and had 18 fish by noon. We went back around and only picked up a couple more before the bite went dead. We decided to run around the lake and check a couple spots until they got hungry again, but had no luck. Went back to the secret honey hole around 2:00 and started whacking away at 'em again. Finished off our limit, played catch and release for a while, then headed to the house. Quality fish, GORGEOUS water, and calm weather made for another exciting trip!

As we pulled up to the dock to clean fish, a guy pulled up next to us in the stall and yanked an 8 pounder out of his icechest and asked if he could come on our boat and measure it! Lol I guess they forgot the measuring tape today. 8 pounds, 28.5 inches. That sucker was fat. I tried to take a picture but he was so excited he didn't hang around long enough. I'm sure it will show up on here soon anyway.

Yea that was him. I heard his buddy call him by that name. He said he caught a 6, 7, and 8 today. He pulled that big trout out of such a tiny icechest lol. He brought it over on the boga and measured it on our boat. That sure was a purdy trout. I still haven't broken the 8 pound mark yet personally :( It was so fat it looked like it swallowed a softball.

We were fishing right on the side of bonsack when he caught it. You should have heard him hollering.

If I was fishing next to him, I would have been hollering just to see that dinosaur coming out of the water!
