My wife was left stranded on the side of 210 yesterday during the rain after she tanked up at the Smokers Express Citgo on 3501 hwy 14 in lake charles yesterday. I had the vehicle towed to the dealer in lafayette. We took a fuel sample and it was 80% water and only 20% fuel.

Gonna ask a dumb question here...Have you contacted the location that sold it to you? If so, are they gonna take care of you on this matter?

That's a lot of dang water!

I did contact them. He said he will call me back after he gets the fuel tested. But I'm in the process of contacting citgo corporate.

I just hope they've quit selling gas until they get this straightened out! I'd venture to guess that this was a quick intrusion of water and, they were unaware of the problem...I hope they weren't aware of it anyway!

Hopefully they handle up on the repair without a bunch of bs.

I would almost bet that this is what my problem is. ****ty fuel. 95% of the time I use Jimbos or cormies for my fuel.

I would be happy to help with a lawyer. My father Inlaw is a big attorney here in lake chuck. I don't mind bothering him for help or advice.

longcast 12-06-2011 03:06 PM

Btw I have spent over 300 bucks trying to figure out my fuel issue with my boat. It only got me stranded in w cove.

Raymond 12-06-2011 03:07 PM

Turn a claim into ur insurance carrier and let them handle fixing the car. It will be covered under comp on auto and company will return deductible if they get reimbursed after they subrogate claim with gas stations carrier. All stations have coverage but they don't have to tell you who is covering them.
Good luck
