tough day on the verm.
Beautiful conditions today on vermillion bay,not to catch all that much. Fished from the cove to tiger shoals with just 4 nice reds,5 white trout and 2 big flounder. There were a few ****** trout, rat reds, croakers, sea cats, but those were released to annoy some other fishermen in the days to come. Still had a great time with my 11 year old son(especially watching him land the biggest red of the day.)

Getting out with your son and just fishing was the ticket....catching a few fish is a bonus to that. Thanks for the report.

SPEC we picked up 13 specs and 1 flounder. We fished Tiger Shoal area and areas just out side of the pass. All were caught on plastics. 4 of the fish were in the 20-21" range.

what is that they say: my worst day fishing is still better than my best day working. and like my signature says they call it fishing for a reason.

We caught all the trout at Tiger Shoals. Couldnt tell you what rig or anything, i didn't look. I just followed a friend out there a while back and marked it on my GPS so thats where we headed. Caught the most of them on the bottom with a mullet. |
we fished the big rig out there, its 217 ,it was blowing fireballs out yesterday. then we fished the little well heads close by,the current was really strong though and its tough gettting your bait to the bottom like that. I talked to some other guys at the landing who had caught 23 or so,but they went from tiger shoals all the way out to the south marsh island blocks

I didnt want to stay out there till the tide slacked,so we headed back to the pass to try for some reds. I didnt realize mud point was missing its island. was it the farthest one out? I havent been there in a little while, usually too many peeps |
hey that rig you fished, was it a pretty big one with some big turbines on it?
