10-6 BL morning trip

Hit the lake this morning for a quick solo trip, I caught my 15 trout early before the wind picked up, once the wind started my bite was over. The birds were working early in West Cove and on the east back north of Grand. The fish were caught on various plastics.

No pictures guys and the fish were again on the small side.

Sounds like a good plan. I talked to a good buddy that said there were also some birds working in black lake early this morning. Black lake is also a good high wind spot to fish.

never ran around black lake really, aint it purty shallow back there

SaltERedneck 10-06-2011 12:27 PM

Sticking to my guns. I need to venture out more to other spots but my boat isnt the biggest and I just wanna keep it simple this weekend. Bought my rig for bass fishing mostly. Very versatile boat.

It is actually on average deeper than west cove or at least equal to it. The problem is there are a bunch of underwater pipes and other things left over from the exploration activites in the area that can make it dangerous. I had someone show me the "way" to run around the lake and over the years I still managed to ding a prop in the lake.

I bet you will still do fine up there, salinity levels are so high now, people are catching trout all the way up to the saltwater barrier.

I had a 2400 Blue Wave Pure bay before I bought my Haynie, I really liked that boat, there are things about it that like better than my Haynie. Also I think you get alot of boat for the money. Just my opinion.
