cast net for shrimp

Does anyone know any place at Rockefeller Refuge where I can cast net some shrimp up to 5 lbs (five pounds) from land or side of the road (LA 82) without using a boat to access some of those weirs? Please advise

Thanks a bunch!

Location

You can try Price Lake Road, there is a small weir there if tide is moving you can catch a few pounds there.

The docks on the east side of the weir at Josephs Harbor always produce some shrimp, but it takes a while

I always see people casting around rollover landing. Not sure if they do any good though.

redfishpoker is a new member, i refered him here since you guys helped me out, i figured you guys could help him also
3 hours over there and no response, 1-1/2 over here and a couple of responses, told you could get better assistance on here, it worked for me
there is a dam on the left side of the boat launch i am sure you can catch some there

I never noticed......but if you are at the Josephs Harbor boat launch on the west side, can you walk a 1/4+ mile down south to the weir that is on the right side. I don't remember if there is a ditch that keeps you from getting there by land.

didn't they close all castnetting from land?? thought I remebered a thread on that...

I have caught a limit of 25lbs several times by the iron gates, gotta have a falling tide. Make sure you get there early to get a spot,it will get packed once the word gets out they are running.

The Big Iron Gates aka floodgate control on left side of Joseph Harbor? Is it correct?

circle

yeah redfishpoker, its a circle, e-man showed me the way so i showed you the way, they helped me out, answered quickly, don't have all the bickering and other b.s. like elsewhere, seems like if you aren't from south east la. you can't get any help over there, as far as i can see everyone on here has good fun haven't seen anyone get their panties in a bunch over an innocent joke, seems like a few people single out "w" though, don't know what that's all about, and there are a few things on here that i like that make things interesting, i enjoy the joke section
