What y'all think knew a guy 2 yrs ago caught a 34 inch trout and released it they measured girth took pic and had replica ldwf estimated weight at 14. U think fish like this coulda come out of cocodrie that's typically smaller trout there

That's Shane peacay; he is Charlie Thomason's redfish tourney partner.
That trout was caught n Breton sound this summer...... Not a state record.... A great trout but no where near a record.

There is no way that trout is close to 14 pounds
id say between 10-12 IMO if that

BaseballFisherman 09-11-2011 03:53 AM

14 pounds or not, that's still the trout of a lifetime right there. Real nice fish

mcjaredsandwich 09-11-2011 07:07 AM

No one that catches a 34" trout in Louisiana is throwing it back. They may eat it but never throw it back.

Well there was a older couple n slidell wo caught a 33 inch trout n the rigolets 2 summers ago.
They took pics with the trout and on a measuring board.... They though it was a nice size but didn't really know what they had......
A few months later round thanksgiving their son found the disposable camera laying around, got the pics developed and found the pics.
LDWF and a few marine biologist said that from the pics and measurements it was easily 14 lbs.
I've seen the pics .... It's crazy how massive this trout was!!!

Jadams 09-11-2011 12:09 PM

The guy that caught the 34 was in west cove on a gold spoon him and Melvin dowers were together both of em are old timers and don't believe in mounting fish tightwads. I know Melvin personally he's not type to make that **** up they thought it was around 10-11 Ronnie doucet heard bout it and called sum1 at ldwf they estimated over 14
