Special Treasure

24 years ago, my best friend died in a tragic accident on her senior trip. We shared an Art class in High School the year it happened and the teacher gave me all of her drawings. It has taken me all these years to track down her family because they moved, etc. I am completely overwhelmed tonight because I finally got in touch with her sister! I framed one of the pictures and am so excited that I will finally get the chance after all these years to surprise her family with this treasure! God is good!

I sit here at my desk in my office, almost numb. Just yesterday I was looking for an old playbook from high school and digging in a box of old stuff. I found the jersey of a friend of mine that was killed in a traffic accident in Opelousas. I sat on the floor and held it, thinking I should try to find his parents and give it to them. Now, I will take the time to actually do it!

Thanks Shannon, I needed that today!

I've got a guitar amp that an old friend and I swapped for WAY back. A few years ago, when I was trying to track him down, I learned that he had passed. Through numerous avenues, I tried to track down his family to return the amp. I was unsuccessful in my journey but, after reading this, I think I'll get back to looking for his mom. Sure is a shame that he's gone because he was a great guy and a VERY talented musician. I guess life got to be a little much for him though and, sadly, he opted out, from what I understand.

Thanks for lighting the fire, Shannon.

Just call me Sparky! Lol.
I told Jeff that I normally wouldn't post something like that but for some reason I was compelled to....now I know why. It gives me chills to see the ripple effect! :)
