Introduced my wife to Big Lake and my other "Love" 8-4-11

Well at the last minute my wife was off work today and wanted to try Big Lake for the first time. So we headed to Cal. Point Landing and put in around 730am. We fished til the sun got to her around 1230pm with only two specs and one red. Trout were only 14inches and the Red was 17inches. We maybe could have caught more trout if not for all the Lady Fish slamming any bait as soon as it hit the water:spineyes: Tons of throw backs that were right under size limit and countless black drum. Oh well very nice time on the water with my wife... no pics because we felt like donating our catch to a father and son on the bank by the landing. After getting out the water I introduced my wife to my other "Love", a Darrell's Special. All the way back to town she talked about how good it was :)

Tip of the Day (Courtesy of my Wife): The fish seemed to not bite well on the bottom or the top, so she set her stopper to about 4-6 feet and increased the bite greatly.

I had a group in my office last week for a few days. They were from California, Maryland, Maine, and North Carolina.

The first day for lunch we ate at Steamboat Bills and they just loved it. Then the next day we went to Darrell's for lunch and as usual they were hooked. They were flying out late Thursday afternoon so we had one more day to eat lunch and I asked them where they wanted to go today. I said we can go to Pats of Henderson and they said that was OK but we would rather go back to that sandwich place.....

They all said "I think this is the best sandwich I have ever ate"...:D
