Shots fired at Ross in Prien Lake Plaza Shopping Center...

Never a dull moment. Perp decided she wanted to turn herself in here at Whitney Bank. Story I've heard is that babysitter (shooter) was having affair with husband. Decided she wanted him to her self so she went out looking for wife, found her, shot her. Sad really that she felt the need to end someone's life.

I was headed to ocharleys as ambulances and a ton of cops were rushing out. Had a gentleman come into boudreauxs whose daughter was in ross when it happened. She said she heard shots in the back, grabbed her kids and ran like hell out of the store. 3 innocent bystanders....1 was the wife and 2 were normal shoppers......where is ironman with his quickdraw holster when hes needed....

Suspect's name was Sharonda Obey...2 in hospital, one in critical and the other in serious condition. The only thing they are saying was it started from a domestic dispute. I got all this from KPLC.

I was at St. Pat's all day with my dad in ICU.
The girl in St. Pats is in critical condition.
I was in the waiting room with the family and friends.
It looked like they brought in the whole neighborhood too.
Off duty Ross employees and managment were there too.
Cop sitting outside her ICU room all day.
Heard they took one bullet out of her chest, but she is messed up bad.
One girl there said she was a bystander, but others said she was the wife.
The babysitter shot the wife, with the husbands gun.
Husband was picked up for questioning.

Don't know how much is the truth, but this is what I heard from the family in the waiting room.

She went thru surgery, then into ICU. Dr's and lots of nurses were working on her in ICU all day.

Lots of crying going on. Every time someone came in crying, we thought she had passed.

Hospital priest and nuns were trying to comfort the family all day.

Not to hijack thread, but Ray is your Dad ok?

Ray 07-23-2011 01:44 PM

He is doing a lot better today.
Only thing keeping him in ICU is his O2 levels in his blood stream.
They are finally normal this morning. He is off the forced breathing machine.
Just waiting on the doctors order to move to a normal room.

Been trying to eat normal food for 2 days, but he says the food is horrible.
No chest pain, just leg pain from where they took the veins out of the left leg.

Ray 07-23-2011 01:46 PM

The girl who got shot in the chest here at St. Pats is the intended target of the shooting.
Family says she opened her eyes and she shakes head yes and no, but she is still in critical condition.
She must be real young cause her mom looks about 25 years old...
The other victims parents came to visit as well as Ross store management.

Ray 07-25-2011 12:13 PM

She was shot 5 times. Still has one bullet in her spine, lower neck.
She is 25 years old with 2 kids, 5 and 3 yrs. old.
I grew up with 2 of her uncles.
If she lives, there is a good chance she will be paralyzed from the chest down.
Ross management is still coming to check on her a couple times a day.

My dad has been moved to a private room, so I won't be seeing her family anymore.
Hopefully my dad will be outta there in the next day or so.
